The San Diego Tourism Authority is one of the most active destination marketing organizations in the country, running programs across Sales, Membership, Marketing, and Research. But underneath that activity was a reporting infrastructure that had not kept pace. Teams were pulling exports from separate systems, rebuilding spreadsheets, recreating leadership decks, and manually reconciling numbers that should have been available on demand. SDTA did not need a single fix. They needed to understand how the whole system worked before deciding what to build.

Solution
GenAI-Labs began with a structured consulting engagement before writing code. We conducted 40+ stakeholder interviews across Sales, Membership, Research, and Marketing to understand how teams actually worked, where time disappeared, which reports were rebuilt repeatedly, and where fragmented data created operational drag. From that work, we created a prioritized opportunity map and translated it into a build-ready roadmap for three internal intelligence systems.
The Research Command Center unified fragmented datasets into a self-serve analytics workspace with natural-language Q&A, charts, summaries, and consistent definitions.
The Membership Cards Dashboard turned 1,000+ member relationships into live profiles with engagement data, health scoring, renewal-risk alerts, and one-click exports.
